Kumu (teachers) with established groups that welcome anyone interested. Most schedule performances within the community and special events like the annual Aloha Festival in which the Halau compete. Many also perform at our club functions and fund raising events like the annual LKNH Luau and Holoku Ball. Dancers usually practice weekly or more frequently prior to scheduled performances. Dancers pay a fee to join the halau and learn about Hawaiian culture, costume and dance implement design and a variety of dance styles.
