Fund Native Hawaiian Learning & Community in AZ

Building Connections

When you support Lau Kānaka, you're investing in the Native Hawaiian community here in Arizona. We are a volunteer-run organization dedicated to being a local resource for anyone interested in learning more about Native Hawaiian culture. Donations help us do our community outreach and put on informative and enriching cultural events for our members.

Access cultural 'ike

Members of the club enjoy access to opportunities such as workshops by acclaimed Indigenous academics and cultural knowledge experts on topics ranging from Hawaiian history to the traditional lunar calendar. Special interest groups and sub-committees for those interested in Hawaiian music, books, language, or traditional skills can be formed at any time.

Discovering Kuleana

For those who miss home, want to talk story, get their hands dirty, and help out our community, Lau Kānaka has opportunities for you! Our Board and active members have organized water collections in the summer, community garden days in the cooler months, and the possibilities in the future are limited only by our imagination. The more funds we raise, the more good we can do!

For the entire 'ohana

We welcome all generations, from keiki to kupuna. Our active members of all ages are encouraged to participate in our General and Board meetings to foster community engagement, and grow our next generation of leaders. Our Board and active members do our best to put on 'ohana accessible events to cater to the varied interests of all of our members here in Arizona.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Tax deductible donations apply to single filers up to $400 and joint filers up to $800. In Arizona, the deadline for making a charitable contribution for the 2022 tax year under the AZ Charitable Tax Credit is April 17, 2023. Mahalo for your generosity!
